Now that the dust is finally settling from Blade Show...I wanted to take this moment and toot my horn! I am very excited to announce that one of my designs with Kershaw Knives won the 2012 Blade Show Best Buy catagory..The folder is called the Cryo. This little knife is a very popular model for Kershaw and winning a award just adds to the excitement surrounding this design. I want to thank Kershaw for bringing this project along! When I went up on stage with Thomas from Kershaw I was still a nervous wreck! haha..But I did better than I did last year when I won Best Collaboration..Again, I'm just pretty dog gone excited about this award!

Congratulations! One of the highlights of my Blade Show experience was getting to say hi to you. I don't know who was happier me or my wife. Heard from the Robs Sunday am about the good news. They didn't look like they had much sleep after the awards dinner.

Yes Steve, Many of us keep our wives away from Rick just because of his animal magnetism. It is world renowned, if you Google newspapers in Denmark you will see many articles cautioning the unsuspecting knife show goer. Beware, good news is Rick is largely unaware of his "effect" so played correctly one can benefit from the "exposure" to Rick.
That is all.

Thanks you for the warning Mr. Rubi. I was wondering why I had this silly grin all week.

To me all of your knives are award winning! Congrads!! Kevin :thumbup::D

I believe Ricks designs will be the subject of considerable review as time goes on, one must remember this is all happening in our time "real time".
We live, Rick lives - what of 100 years from now? These are Man's Oldest Tool already. There are knives and knife designs NOW that we look back on and fundamentally the designs are unchanged.
Then came Rick's designs.
Folders? Yes.
Have there been Folders? Yes.
The changes and obvious improvements Rick has made, IMO will be discussed in the future. Our Sons (and Daughters) will tell stories of knives, shows, Herd meetings, etc.
Good times.

Congrats Rick! Certainly looking forward to the release of the Cryo. On a semi-unrelated note, has the XM series ever won an award? If not, I'd be shocked...they should!

Congrats Rick. Very cool. I played with the Cryo and Cryo II at the Kershaw booth and I'll be getting both.

Very cool how the fundamental nature of Ricks design cues are stretching across such a wide footprint within the edge weapon world.
Man's oldest tool .... simple yet so complicated.

Congratulations on your award! The Cryo is an instant classic. I think it is fantastic that you and Kershaw brought one of your designs within the financial reach of just about anyone. The multitude of knife lovers that could only dream about owning one of your knives before the Cryo, can now actually use one every day. You have made a lot of people very happy! Now, I just can't wait to get my hands on one!

Congrats on yet another design accolade.

I have had 2 of the little Cryos on preorder for months. I feel it to be a great little knife for a small tool / tackle box. Or a good starter knife for some. I also see it being a great gift.
Only detractor is overseas production. I played with this and the Cryo 2, as well as all the new ZT designs at Blade. The little Cryo is a winner.

Good for you Rick!

I look forward to being able to attain a piece of your work. Your XM's are my favorite knives ever.

Congrats Rick.

I just looked at a picture of it and it looks like a sweet little knife.

Are these knives for sale yet?

Mr. "Hammer" covered it.

There are some web based knife retailers taking per-orders. I just double checked before posting this and the pre-order is still open with a little note claiming "summer 2012" availability.
