I just got my new ZT 560 in the mail today. I have to say I have not been this impressed with a knife in quite a while. It opens super smooth and fast (with the thumb studs to). The blade is centered and fit and fair is exceptional. I was a little apprehensive about getting a 560 at first because of the size secondly i have never really gotten into the flipper style knives. Especially since I own a 551 and that thing is a brick! A nice brick but still a brick and not a flipper. Since the 560 is even bigger I was hesitant. I was shocked when I handled the 560 for the first time. It is super light for its size and disappears in my pocket. I am really liking the flipper design also. I think one of the things I noticed the most was how the lock bar doesn't stick at all. It is smooth as glass. So far I am very pleased. I am thinking this knife is going to get carried a lot.

I am going to get carpal tunnel syndrome. I can't stop flipping this thing.
 
Hey this is great to hear. I really like the look of the 0560, but didn't pull the trigger because I thought it would be too big for EDC. Maybe I'll take a closer look now.

Don't let the size scare you off of it. It is one heck of a nice (and light) knife.
 
I love my ZT 0560 too. I just got it yesterday and it's a great knife! My new top runner(gets the RFP) in my EDC lineup.
I'm also addicted to the flipper. My family is going to kill me if I don't stop flipping it and hey continue to hear it snap open. :D
 
i tell all you doubters on the 0560...if you like the Spyderco Military you'll love the ZT0560......this blade is sic.....silky smooth, the weight is no worry..........the 550 makes the 0560 feel like a feather in your pocket..lol but really guys i love this blade.......oh i cant wait till the Carbon Fiber Edition comes out i'm going to be all over it. I LOVE YOU ZT and Hinderer for making this dream of a knife. Thx. Rudeco.
 
I was thinking I was going to need to carry it in a sheath because of its size, but it is perfectly at home in my pocket.
 
I can't wait til I get my 0560. Although, I'm thinking about just getting the 0550 since its a bit cheaper.
 
The 0560 isn't awesome.

The 0561 is! Okay,years ago, I could have had a 0302, but opted for a 0301... missed the brown by this much. The 0561 is a teeny bit longer than the 0551 - never noticed that. The 0551 was perfect for me... so much so that I bought a spare! The 0561 is growing on me. I'm fortunate - I picked mine up from a local store - from stock. I chose the first unopened 0561!

Thais for the reply with the picture. I did not realize the 550 was that close in size to the 560. They are REALLY close! Makes it not such a bummer if I can't find a 560... I like both the Hinderer designs, slight edge to the 560, but MAN, that cost difference hurts. I understand it, not complaining. But it still hurts.

Interesting... The 560 almost looks more like a combat blade, whereas the 550 really comes across more as a utilitarian design. Hmmmm... Something mor to think about.

They are similar in size but carry and feel totally different in the hand. I like my 551 but I would have to say (as of now anyway) I am digging the 560 a little better. Like I said before it just disappears in your pocket. It was a noticeable difference between the two in my opinion. Others may disagree though......

On a side note. I just sharpened my 560 (I am a little OCD about my knives and sharpness). I really like that Elmax steel. I said the same thing about the 551. My 560 had a 20 degree edge from the factory so I left it at 20 and cleaned it up a bit. It is screaming sharp now, and was very easy to get that way. Now we will see how well it holds its edge. Looking forward to testing that out!
