Here is a just completed six knife set of D'Holders, with Royal Russian Walnut handles. The story behind the Russian Walnut Burl can be found at http://www.dknifeplace.com/html/RoyalRussianWalnut.html

The knives all have Royal Russian Walnut Burl handles with African Blackwood and Musk Ox spacers, with D's Mirror Polished Hollow Grinds. All except the Natchette are ATS-34, and the Natchette is 19C27. This is the first Natchette D has made. All six knives are engraved by Pat Holder.

The knives are from top right to bottom in the first two photos: D'Holder Fat Natchez; D'Holder Natchez; D'Holder Big Dog; D'Holder Natchette; D'Holder Long Natchez and D'Holder Slim Natchez.

Man I love D'holder's knives!! They are absolutely beautiful!!! When I get out of medical school and actually start making some money he will be the first maker that I try and collect some pieces from. Again great collection there!!

This combination of rich materials, and D's legendary crisp grinds has made for a most elegant set of knives that one could imagine.

I found the handles highly ergonomic, and the blade shapes each add a specialized component to cutting tasks.

D's sheaths are an integral part of his package, and the set is dressed to the nines in them.

Del, I applaud your conception and the finalized project. WOW!!!

That is an amazing set. I've also found that D'Holder gets alot of chatoyance out of the woods he uses. Either he has an eye for finding them in their rough stage or he has a special knack for bringing their depth out.

Congratulations on an exquisite set of knives and sheathes!

THAT is MONEY!!!

All six knives are engraved by Pat Holder

everything is perfect in this knife - blade, handle and engraving has distinct Russian motif:thumbup:

I have always admired d'Alton Holder's knives, especially the "Natchez." These are truly stunning. Love those wood handles!

D'Holder's knives have always caught my eye. I Believe they are the most perfectly executed works of cutlery ever. I am happy that I was able to purchase one of his knives many years ago for $250. I don't want to know what they go for today but I am sure I could not afford one.

Super set, Del. It was really cool to hold that block of wood at D's last year, that all of these knives came from. Can't wait to get my long Big Dog out of it! Talk about super-rare wood.

I've had a standing order for a knife from D'. Because of this set he is modifying my order just a smidgen.... ;):D

When you see a good thing, go with it!
