Awesome Older Gerber Mark II's on eBay

[Dark Nemesis]

I have wanted to get a nice Gerber Mark II for a while and I know some others around here have also. If you go and do a search on eBay, there are 4-5 great Mark II's from the 1960's & 1970's. Yes they very high in price. Just wanted to let everyone know.

Pardon the uneducated question, but why were the early MKIIs canted at the handle/blade junction? Looks completely odd...

While I personally admire the design of these knives, I know absolutely nothing as to why they were designed in that fashion. Hopefully someone else will reply and be able to give you an answer

This was done to improve the position of the knife in the hand when engaged in combat and to improve its carrying position on the body" Because the hip is normally wider than the thigh the cant was to make the blade lay flat on the thigh. As far as combat I have my own idea but it could be way off base so I will keep it at home.
