I ordered an R6 w/o the top guard and I noticed some issues.

I contacted trissy to see if I can send it in and just convert the knife FFG. She happily said that they will make it FFG free of charge and sent me a shipping label and 3 months later....here she is.....I was told that they tossed that knife and made me a new one.

The only minor flaw i saw and I think Busse and Kin should improve upon is catching these spit rivets. I've had at least 3 Busse's that had it. It just bugs the hell out of me specially on kydex sheaths. I know they'll take care of me but Gawd darn, the wait sucks!

Now that's one giant RMD and I'll have to say this knife does not have an obtuse grind. It's even and very thin. Thanks swamprat!

Lastly, in my experience Alan is a better than David when it comes to sharpening.

Alan has sharpened both the Rats I ordered new, RMD and RS, and they were both awfully darn sharp and evenly ground on the edge and bevel. My RMD is probably the sharpest knife I own, consistently after resharpenings.

Alan has sharpened a couple of mine, including my R6 and they were both perfect. Just got back from a scout campout and used the R6. One of my favorite blades!

Whats the blade thickness now that its FFG? Also how much does it weigh?

Thanks

Thanks! I hope they start doing even grinds. I'm not a fan of obtuse grinds than they produce. You can't really take advantage of SR101 with a thick edge.

Agreed, SR-101 does very well with thinner edges and your replacement sure appears to have a pretty lean edge by Busse standards. I've had a couple similar grinds that were off like the first one you received, but I got them second hand so I never felt that I should send them in. I don't understand how they leave the shop that uneven, shouldn't quality control catch these issues?

They were too drunk to see it. in my experience if something is wrong they will make it right without an expense from the customer. it's just waiting sucks!
