I know all the hip jive.

Went to a yard sale a couple weekends ago and saw this in a bin of other knives. It was marked 50 cents.

Teleported a couple quarters out of my pocket with no clear recollection of how and snatched it up.

That‘s a good find! Carbon steel butcher knife prices are through the roof in my area; Old Hickory and Dexter are usually around $20-25. Once in a great while, you might find a deal but not often.

I would use that. That’s a keeper. Very nice knife ya got there. One big razor with some backbone:). Love the shape. Really sweet piece!

Well done! I’m going to start riding with my wife to garage sales. Afraid I’ll miss something.

Thanks guys.
I used to snap them up at estate sales, but not any more. Maybe most people who used them are dead now.
Yeah. I've gotten quite a few of the carbon steel kitchen knives at yard sales myself, and that has dried up lately.
I still get Henckels and such here and there, though. I always snap them up even if I don't need them, sharpen them up. and give them to people so they have an example of a decent knife in the kitchen.
As to the carbon steel knives, they were most often Old Hickory or Dexter, as mentioned. Nice to get a Case.

That's some nice knives. And steels.

I know all the hip jive...

I have to ask, did you get "awesomesauce" from Hurk while playing Far Cry video game?

Just wondering how common that slang is in USA, I'd never heard it before Hurk said it and it made me chuckle.

50 cents? I'd bust out the teleporter too!

My daughter used to say that many years ago.
She has already told me I was "So five minutes ago" for using it with her... also many years ago.
I still say it jokingly now, of course.

Don't know when that video game was current. I know my daughter was, and is, a gamer.
She might have gotten that from me when she was a kid, but I haven't been into video games for a while.

Now I feel old.
