When did Victorinox ditch the sewing eye from some of the awls?

Check out this pic...

I just noticed the sewing eye is missing from the Forester M Grip and the camo One-hand Trekker.
But the sewing eye is present on my older Hunter.
So, are all the newer one-hand models missing the sewing eye?

The 111mm ones don't have one for reason or another.

I don' know when but................ it's easier to clean when you use your knife as "brass knuckle"

I'd assume it'd have to do with military design contracts. The civilian type, have the hole. The military issue doesn't. German, Swiss, and US (The models I've seen).

I guess they don't want soldiers attempting to sew things. Considering the wide use of nylon. Civilians can have at it.

To the contrary, back when I was a soldier (1986-1992) we were issued a sewing kit.

I still have mine (although missing some thread and some buttons and a few needles...
