Finished this ax up last night. The head is from the previous thread I posted a few days ago. Most the time I'll do a chopping check but on this one I questioned on weither I had the edge to hard so I went alittle further with the testing. Started out cutting up some old antler and the edge held up real well then chopped a 3" birch limb. On the way back to the garage I spotted a hard fire brick and decided to see how it would hold up chopping up the brick. It did so well I went for a red clay brick. Still shaving sharp, No....... But there was no chipping and thats what my concern was about. The head is 1065 with a hickory haft.

So, I can use the hawks you sent me to profile bricks, huh?
Never mind that...
Good to see it wasn't destroyed by the red clay one, though!
