Axcaliber

[Toyoga]

This is an old Benchmade axe I bought new in the early 90's. I think they were designed by Jody Samson. Id like to find out what steel it is, and any other information anyone has. Thanks.

Welcome. Here is a thread with the label. Unfortunately it doesn’t specify what steel was used.

Just got this one in the mail on Saturday morning! Thnx dweikum! I like it! This one came complete. Box, paperwork, sheath and Axcaliber.

It's the model 170, better known as Axcaliber. The specs I know on it are: 17 1/2'' overall, made from 3/16'' thick High Carbon tool steel with a molded Kraton handle. The head is 5 3/4'' deep and the edge is 7 7/8'' from point to point.

All I can say is it's a great piece. I'd love to see BM make another piece like this one day.
