This may have been posted before........ in fact I'm sure it has been flushed out by one of you at some point. :o

None the less, I'm posting it again. It's not about the axe, but more about the skill in which the man uses the axe. From a carvers point of view; it's a work or art!!!! He seems to know where the edge is at all times.

Makes "know your tools" rather than WHAT tools you have a true statement to me anyway. Great vid.

BTW........ when I said "where the edge is", I know we all know where the edge is pointed for the most part. That is a far cry from knowing where the edge "is" in this case. He can look up at the camera/person and KNOW what/where he is cutting.

It might just be me, but that vid showes a person that REALLY knows that particular tool. Thats all.

To me thats what it's all about. Not WHAT you have, but how well you can use it. ;)

I saw this over in the axe subforum, can't remember who posted it.

Thank you, I had forgotten about.

I love seeing people work with such precision that it makes it look simple when in reality it requires years of practice.

Axe as precision tool indeed but very small axe and (probably) very soft wood.
That said the guy knows his work for sure.

That was really neat. Looks like he is roughing out assembly line style.

There were some good lessons in there of specific cuts-or ways to cut I must try to incorporate.

thanks
