Handle collar

The handle collar is tethered by a leather strap and locks around the handle
by passing the d ring through a slot.
Once the snap is in place on the d ring the collar can't move.
On the basket / saddle of the sling there is a securing belt that can lock the
axe head in when a rough hall is expected.
Thanks for looking,
Mike

Aside from chuckling at the forum alert regarding hipster version shoulder slings for toilet plungers I've never come across anything like this. Seems like a great idea to me and your version is certainly well thought out and carefully made. The only lads I can think of that packed choppers around on their travels day in day out were timber cruisers and I wonder if they used slings or whether they were merely hand carried. Myself have always stuffed a small axe (24-26" 2 1/4 lb) in a back pack with the handle pointed up and out. Aggravating once in awhile when trying to duck through low branches but otherwise an OK method.

Nice, abundant of rivet, buckles, snaps, etc.
Impression is a Steampunk theme going on...
