As some of you know I was in the antiques business for many years. I recently refound (in my stuff stash))) a 1907 1000 page hardware catalogue from a Montreal hardware wholesale Co. It has over 100 pages of pocket knives (another of my addictions))) and about 15 pages of axes. The coloured axe and tool Co. labels are stuck down to a blank divider page in the catalogue at the start of the axe section. I imagine they were supplied by the tool companies. There are a couple of US axe companies and a couple of Canadian and a couple of house brands amongst the axe illustrations. The hardware Co. was Caverhill, Learmont & Co. I've posted the coloured labels and the one Kelly axe in the catalogue for now. I'm going to scan the axe pages soon and ask Blade forums to make it a sticky where others can post old catalogue pics if you have them. Enjoy.
Sorry for the two on their sides, i'll fix it if we can get a thread stickied:D
Best regards

Robin

Nice! I have a 1937 Warren Axe and Tool catalog full of similar pics of labels and axes. Real neat stuff. Interesting to see what they looked like back in the day. If I can I will post some pics of these, and perhaps a couple new axes I have with labels.....that is an awesome find. Nice piece(s) of history, no doubt.

Pipeman, like you I use to be in antiques also. I have a 1901 Sears and Roebuck Catalog that may have some interesting labels and pictures of axes. I will check it out and see if I can get some pictures to post.

Robin, Thanks for posting these. I really like to see the stuff that hasn't been around for awhile.
