Axe head age

I picked up an old true temper yesterday from a guy in western Indiana. Pretty nice head, slight mushrooming that's been filed out on all side in less then 15 minutes, edge has never sharpened outside of factory. The steel is amazing like all good quality axes should be. but when I took off the handle the head had ribs in it. The ones on the right side are further apart then the ones on the left side. Sorry don't have any photos yet, and I know more about axes then most, but I don't ever recall true temper putting ribs in the eye. Anyone know how old this is?

Somewhere between 1949 and the 1980s. The ribbed eye models were typically true temper Kelly works from what I've seen.

I have a TrueTemper boys axe I can date to 1966, it lacks ribs in the eye and the small letter number stamps. The rib pattern is indeed one of two I have seen with TrueTemper.

If others know of earlier ribbed eyes and or the small letter number stamps in True Temper I would also like to know about it.
