Yesterday was my first day out with a metal detector, and I was able to dig up this axe head. The folded aspect of the metal around where the handle would have been doesn’t look like any thing made these days. Can anyone here give me a little info about this axe from the below pics?

To post images you’ll need to first upload them to an image hosting site like Imgur or PostImage. Then copy the direct link to that photo and use the photo button in the toolbar to insert that link to the photo into your post. (Sounds harder than it is.)

Looks like it was a broad hatchet. I see some grain, might have a wrought iron body.

I think that was probably something resembling a Michigan at one point judging by the bit and size of the poll
