I know this is a stretch... There's not much left of the markings. But, this was my grandfather's/great grandfather's axe. I'd like to figure out the make. Anyone have any ideas?

It was laying in the dirt for many years. I'd like to know the make. Hopefully one day my son will be able to split some wood with it!

My guess would be a Marshall Wells Zenith or a Plumb "Anchor Brand". What part of the US are you in? Sometimes regional stores had their own fancy embossings so it could be a "local" brand.

I'm in south western Pennsylvania. Just north of Pittsburgh.

It's seen better days... Looks like it had a lot of use.

Maybe this one
