hi guys, i was by one of my fathers friends houses recently, went to collect a old solingen telescope knife with a broken handle that he would like rehandled, and while he was digging around in the basement, i spied a lot of old axes sitting in the corner, he told me that he got them while he was living in Switzerland about 10 years ago, apparently the house he bought had them in its basement when he moved in, he just brought them here to barbados with him. the axe sat in his basement here, which is pretty close to the sea, so it had quite a lot of surface rust, but after a few hours with some sanding blocks, it actually turns out that it had some decent metal underneath (the pics show the side that was against the wall, the other side still has some surface rust that is being stubborn)

does anyone have any idea who made this axe? or maybe how old it is?? im not having much luck, but the edge is rather hard, doesnt take too well to being sharpened with sandpaper

its suffered some serious abuse from the previous owner, judging by the collection of axes, im guessing lumberjack.

yes its a lovely axe, once i got some of the rust off of it :) no plans of using it too much, after i rehandle it i'll just do some light chopping with it, im curious about how it will work, never used one with a blade of that design
