Testing the waters here with pic links. I've had this axe for years and have searched the net for a maker but still drawing blanks. Anyone?










Very similar to a new Ochsenkopf forestry axe, which is where I ordered the handle.

Assuming the pictures are viewable..:) I figured a circled lion and "W&R" would be an easy ID. Maybe not.. I've been cleaning up and rehanging some relatively well knowns i.e. Kelly, Craftsman, etc., but this one has been my go to companion for firewood outings for at about 20 years. I know nothing of its origin, it just feels right. lol Thanks for looking!
 
Unfortunately, I’m pretty useless at IDing specific makers, but it doesn’t look American made to me. Eye is too big and would be more oval-ish, not squared off. WARNING: I may be partly or entirely full of shiite.


On the bright side, your pictures came through quite clear (even on my crappy jerkwater web connection). Looks like a nice specimen.
