Here's a report from an American who attended an 8-day axe-making course held at Gransfors Bruks. He made all these tools while he was there.

Below is the course description. The cost (including lunches and dinners) translates to about $1550. Find a bed & breakfast, and a flight to Sweden, and you're set. :)

Forging Tools/Axe forging (8 days)
10 – 17 July
Here you will learn how to make forged tools and steel-edged tools with traditional methods (forge,
hammer and anvil). You also learn to forge a punching tool, a pair of tongs and a splitting chisel. The
blacksmith tools you produce will then be used to forge an axe. To practice forge welding techniques,
you will make some laminated knife blades. The course also includes understanding materials, heat
treating and grinding, as well as some of the participants’ own ideas. No major previous experience is
required but having tried some blacksmithing would be beneficial.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Course fee: 10 200 SEK incl. VAT
Content:
Practice and education. Material inclusive
Lunch, coffee at breaks, dinner
The book Swedish Blacksmithing is also included.

That looks like a really good time. But I'd probably be the guy who took twice as long as everyone else to make a set of tongs, while another classmate did 3 candlesticks, a complete set of fireplace tools and a Ford Model T, lol :)

Well that has just jumped up to the top of my "selfish vacation" list, awesome!
