What is the largest (diameter/length) tree trunk you can process with your axe?
In other words, what are the limitations of your 26" Wetterlings (1.9lb head) in your experience

That would depend on skill as much as the axe. I think this axe is well suited to take out a max of 8" seasoned dead hard wood. Maybe a 10" green tree. It could take out bigger trees, but a felling axe is more suited for that.

For limbing small stuff like that
I just slide my axe on the branch and by changing the angle of the axe I can control where I make the cut
It is almost slicing than chopping, this way the branch does not bounce
