Axe pricing really high?

So, I'm a knife guy but have four axes/tomahawks/hatchets,, but they are all under $60. I can see knives being expensive because they're lighter and thinner than axes and are used in many harsh environments, and must perform above their weight class.

I see the Karesuando Unna Aksu axe at $350 and axes like Granfur bruks at $120 - $250 or so. What makes these axes so expensive for just small to medium size ones? Are they miracle steels made from a meteor from Mars and Handles made from carved unicorn horn? Or are you mostly paying for the name?

Thanks!
