Axe restoration thread?

Would anyone mind pointing me in the right direction of a step by step axe restoration thread? If no threads, any videos, articles, etc...

I complied a bunch of resources here. I don't know that there is one single thread that has all aspects of axe restoration. Recommend starting with the standard "Axe to Grind". It pretty much walks you through it. Companion videos too.

that i bought in a oil rag.
For vintage axes with the handles almust never
come with blade grauds.
To prevent the blade from getting nicked
in my garage and rusting.

A rag won't provide much protection for the axe or anyone who walks into it. I would be very carefull about leaving oily rags around with the chance of spontanous combustion. A good wipe with oil maybe a coating of car wax will help with rusting. You can make a simple guard with heavy cardboard and duct tape.

One of the regulars here (can't remember which) cut some heater hose (or other appropriate size rubber hose) a little longer than the bit and then sliced it on the inside curve to fit over the edge. Seemed like a great idea as a cheap sheath of sorts, haven't got around to trying it myself yet.
