Axe Sling?

I have two Iltis Ox-Head axes I use in the bush and take in my truck pretty much anywhere I go. They are item 'B' in the picture bellow. Both the same heads but different handles than seen in the photo. My second, used as work axe, has a shorter handle that has a partial grip paint shaft.

So my question is about carry method. I was out the other day packing my axe and Sven 21 inch saw and was thinking how sweet it would be to have a shoulder/baldrick style rig that I could carry then both in hands free. Not nessicarily somthing that rides at the hip, but more over the back, with the axe head at the small of my back. Material I have available are tubular webbing, para-cord and a MEC large buckle.

What do you guys think? Does anyone have somthing like this already?

Thanks!

I have seen a lot of baldrics for knives, but not many for axes and saws. I tried my hand at one with some rope I had, and it worked, but it just took awhile to get the knife and axe
untangled. I would suggest making sure that both are secured tightly, but access to them is still easy and fast. In the next ten minutes an expert who makes them for a living will chime in, just watch.

I saw this a while ago, maybe even posted here. I'm considering making something similar from some leather I have, but usually if I carry an axe in the woods it has a pretty short handle so I just tuck it in the back of my belt, or put it in my pack.

Dang, that's neat. It probably wouldn't be too difficult to rig something like that up with some canvas or leather and the tubular webbing.
