Is this a problem having the axe head down almost on top of the shoulder? There just isn't enough room on these house handles for big bits like the Connecticut pattern.

Thanks!

Looks good any further have to ge the longer racing axe hanndles. I have one down that far and used it for a couple years. Real Nice axe.I dont have a Connecticut pattern axe,Dang another one I need to find . Whats the #

I have noticed that House Handle octagon handles are slimmer than their regular handles. I think they just take one of their regular handles and mill it down for a octagon handle. That's been OK with me as I prefer a slimmer handle for my axes. That may be the issue that you are having with the Connecticut.

Double ott I also like the slim handles. There just isn't enough handle above the shoulder for CTs. But this seems to be a problem for most handles I find.

That looks fine. I have a few that are actually a smidge below the shoulder and it doesnt affect use at all really. just aesthetic, which is all too common when it comes to axes.

That's a sweet axe. That's about how I hang most of mine on purpose, even if I have to cut extra off the top and lengthen the kerf. Looks awesome, IMO and I haven't had any issues.

I'm with the majority so far -- it's fine, and it's how I'd prefer most of my axes be hung. With single bits, I spend a good bit of time trying to get the shoulder sanded down far below the stock profile. If I could get them to look about like you've shown, I'd be really happy.
