Lets see them.

Here is a "Lasher", made in South Africa.

I hope you all find it interesting.

This is a brand new axe that has not been sharpened or had any other work done to it.

Lasher is an old South African company that makes a range of tools, I do not know how long they will remain in business though.

Wow that's a dang nice grind geometry for being straight from factory. The grain on the wood looks great too -is it hickory though? It doesn't quite look like it to me, but that might just be because of the really tight growth rings.

I'd share if I could, but all my axes are either old vintage american ones or swedish (both new and vintage). The only other place in the world I've really frequented is the Philippines and their tool of choice for just about every task is the bolo (of which I have a few). I think I only ever saw one axe in my entire time there - and that was a hand-made one in the old fold-over poll-less style... I thought about going to the local blacksmith to get one made, but decided against it since it would be purely for the novelty. The guy using it sure seemed to know what he was doing though!

A South African axe, that's pretty dang cool.
Are their many vintage axes floating around down there?

Lasher is the company that makes Cold Steel's machetes, for reference. :)

I have one of those, Steve. However it's not as bearded and more hatchet like.
Heavy mother! The head alone is 2lbs on a 18" handle. Blasts through logs, though. I split my smokers wood with it, mostly.
