AXIAL KNIVES OTF

Has anyone also noticed Axial OTF knives have the same blades as Kershaw Livewire? The same blade shapes and three notches on top?
 
The Axial came first, way before Kershaw was making OTF's, and they put that 3 notch motif on all their blade shapes. Kershaw's Livewire originally was only offered in the spearpoint blade, which doesn't have the notches. I'm not sure why Kershaw chose to cut those notches on the new tanto versions.
