Well, I was cleaning my 710 today, and discovered to my great shock that one of my omega springs was broken. Now I'm going to have to send one of my favorite knives in for repair.
I've only heard one other report of this happening. I have no idea how long it's been this way - maybe weeks, maybe it just happened today. For what it's worth, the knife still functions perfectly, and lockup is still rock solid.
Be warned - I didn't notice it until I looked at it very closely (feeling the springs with a toothpick helps). For those axis lock lovers out there - might want to take a close look at your own knives.
Perhaps it's just a freak accident - good thing I just got a 705; now I have something to carry while my 710 is in the shop.
