How well does the axis lock handle dirty conditions? I work around a lot of dirt, sand, mud and cement dust.

I have gunked up a Griptilian and then a Stryker working in mud and with concrete. Somehow didn’t learn lesson first time. They cleaned up but weren’t as snappy due to media in the pivot area.

I haven’t found a folder yet that is good in mud. Best so far was a Tri-ad but that still was not good. Imo, a small fixed blade is the way to go in very dirty conditions.

The lock geometry seems to lend some self-cleaning capabilities to the knives, as the lock bar can push away any dirt or debris that's on the blade tang. I don't get mine too dirty but I think the Axis lock is near the top in terms of locking system designs that tolerate debris.

Of course, your washers are going to feel awful when they get dirt in them, but just about any knife short of a MUDD will. The locking system should still function 100%.
