Axis lock hitting tang

Hey everyone

I have a Mini Presidio that when closed and the Axis lock is pulled back, the lock will hit the tang of the blade, causing the blade to come out just a tiny bit.

Has this happened to anyone else with their Benchmades and can it be fixed? I've tried opening the knife but I can't get access to the Axis lock mechanism

That's just the way it is on certain models. There is no reason to be pulling back the Axis lock while the knife is closed, so there's no negative effect.

You can get access to the Omega spring by taking off the liners, this is done by taking off the smaller t-6 torx screws (I believe this is their size) and just separating the liner from the handle. This isn't an issue though... my BM558 and my BM940 does this as it just how the locking mechanism works. But once you get to this point you'll realize that it's simply an spring that holds the bar in a 'up' position and in no way is this an issue with the lock.

Do you think it's an issue or is it causing problems? If you have to manipulate the knife for it to behave this way I don't think that it should be a problem because without that manipulation... it wouldn't happen.

Retracting the Axis lock bar on some models moves the blade slightly from the fully closed position. This is particularly noticeable on the BM 707 and the BM 530. I find it helpful. OldDude1

It didn't happen when I first got it so I thought it was a defect. Also didn't happen to my other Axis locking knives.

Thank goodness it doesn't sound like its something to be concerned about :D
