Axis Lock on a Bedlam

So, I have never owned a Benchmade, although I have given a few as gifts. I bought a Bedlam and the Axis lock behaves differently than the two Crooked Rivers I have given as gifts. On those CRs, when the lock was disengaged the blade just swung closed. On the Bedlam, almost nothing happens. Normal for a Bedlam? Do I need to lube it? Loosen the pivot?

If it's normal for this knife, thats fine, but kind of defeats the purpose of the Axis lock I thought - if I have to disengage the lock from both sides of the scale, I now have to use the other hand to close the blade.

Thanks.

I'd start with loosening the pivot. As soon as I bring a knife home it gets disassembled and the washers get polished on my sharpening stones. This removes imperfections and smooths the action out. I use Knife Pivot Lube regular on Benchmades, and it seems to do the trick. A bit of blue Loctite on the pivot screw helps keep your knife perfectly adjusted once you get it to where you like it.

Thanks.

I got it from Amazon (from Benchmade), so I actually have another coming via the replacement option. I'll see if the next one behaves the same way and then if it does I'll take it apart.
