greetings all,
just noticed some up/down play [never had that before] on my 710. the thing is, this knife is mint and never had even medium use. any suggestions? tightened the pivot and everything else. thought maybe the springs were getting weak and not seating the lock properly. best to all.

It's called 'Radial Blade Play'. In the years of owning have had one or two with this issue and Benchmade fixed what I couldn't. Don't think it's the springs, it's more of an alignment issue. Good luck!

My 810 does that. But I really don't think it's because of alignment of the axis components I think it's due to the pivot hole in the blade being to large for the pivot. I haven't wanted to send it in though cause I'm doubting they would fix it. It only moves a very small amount maybe .1 mm but naturally it still bothers me.

If the machining of the axis bar or its housing is a little bit uneven then this happens. I've had it on a few of my Axis locks and it doesn't bother me very much. I'm sure Benchmade would do an internals replacement if you sent yours in.

This is all me as well man. Benchmade, but diff model. Bugs the hell out of me! But its so fickle id wonder if BM would fix it.

Send it in. They're pretty good about at least trying to fix it. In my experience, many of the axis lock models suffer from very, very slight up and down play.
