axis locks....

I have had a 705 for about 6 months now and I have carried it but have lately been hestitant. MO's laws say that a switchblade is any knife that can be opened with the button and spring or by centrifugal force. By holding down the lock, it is easy to flick open the knife. I have the pivot tight enough so that it won't fall open on it's own by unlocking it, but the laws are confusing about the flicking. I know that I should know this by now, but does anyone have any input?
Thanks,
MAtt

You might want to check the Knife Laws forum on this. It is at the bottom of this same group of fora.

It's a grey area, since any knife that folds and can be opened one-handed (and many that are set up for two-handed opening, as well) can be opened by flicking, Axis or no Axis. Some lockbacks can be opened this way, for example. Liner locks and frame locks, as well. Basically, if they actually enforced the law, most folding knives would be illegal. So, while most folding knives are, technically, illegal under these laws, the laws are rarely enforced. It's a crazy, crazy world....
