I was wondering, What if Benchmade goes belly-up, what do we flickers of Axis Locks do when/if those unique Omega springs break? can I go to the local hardware store and buy some type of spring to rig up?

Your new to the Forum aren't you?
With all the BM owners out here that scenario isn't likely, but if your worried call/e-mail Benchmade and buy a handful of spares.

When I started buying autos and I couldn't get the springs shipped, I looked in the trade mags, and found someone local who supplied them.

Yes, I am a newbie to the forum. Thanks T. I didn't know whether or not they would sell the parts. Their warranty policy would have me believe that only they had the skill to replace parts and stuff. I couldn't give a rats ass about the warranty on a $60 knife when their minimum repair bill is $20. Thats like if you owned a 50,000 car, the MINIMUM repair bill would be $16k............f that!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd just as soon buy a whole new knife (I think i just unriddled the BM repair/warranty policy!) Your thread on the dissassembly of the Axis is awesome, thanks for voiding a warranty for our sake!!

The word is that the proper sized piano wire makes good replacement springs. So I guess as long as there are pianos....

I doubt if BM is going to go belly-up any time soon, and if they did, I am willing to bet that any number of secondary suppliers would fill the void rapidly.
