hi all,

this kukhuri was built on order.
it´s light and maneuverable- more a fighter than a tool.
balancepoint is 1,5 inch in front of the wrought iron.

for the clip I want to give credit to jason knight-
my customer saw his ´kukhuri to rule them all´ and insisted on a similar detail-
so I changed the original design and integrated a swedge, but with a more upswept nose.

W1 differentially quenched
wrought iron
ebony

lenght 38cm / 15 inch
blade only: 25cm / 10 inch
thickness: 7,0- 5,5mm
weight 530g / 1,2lbs

thanks for looking!
gerhard

That's a FANTASTIC Kuk!! Would look great next to another special Kuk I have in my possession... :)

Wow - that is the coolest fuller I have ever seen on a khuk! And the recurve and the raised clip are truly sublime. Really cool interpretation!

Whereabouts in Germany are you located?

Very, very cool. I'd really love to see your process for designing, carving and fitting all of those curves. That fuller is sweet... but leaves me scratching my head.

Gerhard

I was speaking today to another maker and I brought up that I have not seen to many Master Smith Khukuri's

To do a properly balanced - fullered Khukuri at a MS level is very difficult

Than I log on tonight and I see this wonderful interruption by you ......... TRULY a wonderful piece congrats to all involved :)

Jason is hopefully going to have a one off variant of is Masterpiece for Blade Show

Fantastish kuk there lovely fuller some work in that alone.
Would grace any kukhuri collection .
Live the up swept point and would sharpen the top portion to increase its effectiveness .
Although a back sweep with a kuk is not that easy :D .
Love it.

AH thats better! Wow thats a beast. I'm loving your work Gerhard. Fantastic.
Cheers Keith

I really need to stay away from this forum. The work you folks do is absolutely amazing.
This blade will haunt my dreams for quite some time I think.
