Azwelke Kydex Sheath worth $?

Depends on the knife I guess. I really like Esse sheaths but for something like Becker, yeah I'd say so.

How crappy is the original sheath?

I had a Scrapyard Scrapivore that came with an Azwelke sheath. There was a little bit of wiggle while it was sheathed (wasn't a big deal to me) but the retention was second to none. Can't emphasize enough how well it retained that knife. No matter how hard you would try to shake it out the knife stayed put. That is until you wanted it out. Surprisingly easy pull.

That was my only experience with his sheaths (or any custom sheath maker) but I would say if you need a kydex sheath then it is worth the money.

Yea I was looking around for new sheaths for my BK2, and saw that he was highly recommended. Just a little hesitant to buy another Kydex sheath, when I really have no complaints about the original sheath.

Yes. Hands down worth every penny. Have a few for different ones for a variety of knives, Becker, Mora, Esee, and all are top notch. They all fit tek loks, which I like, and the drop down attachment rocks when you want to carry it a little lower.

I have two--for a BK7 and a 17; they are great... the 17 is scout carry, the 7 is a dangler. Buy with confidence.

I bought one for my Swamp Rat Howlin' Rat, great sheath, second to none. Well worth the money? Absolutely!!

I have had 2 and both were very very nicely made and better quality over any stock kydex sheath. But if you like your original sheath there is no reason to get another in my opinion. Unless you want a new color or different carry options.

But if your going to go with a new kydex al is very good and nice to work with!!

with kydex, you should be able to take a hair dryer to heat the sheath a bit and press down on the area if you want to increase retension. you wouldn't want to melt, mold the plastic, just push it in a bit

Your sheaths are great!

I am really enjoying mine. I hope to get another belt loop attachment soon for my BK9’s carbon fiber sheath.

Have you ever messed around with making something for the Ontario SP line?

MolokaiRider MolokaiRider I have had a few Ontario SP’s sent in to have custom sheaths made. I don’t remember which ones off hand, but you are welcome to send yours in:)
Please email me when ever you want to talk about it. azwelke1@aol.com

Thank You,
Al
