Hello everyone!

I just got a Böker AF-FD in the mail and I love it! For the longest time, I didn't think Böker made anything other than the budget Böker Plus series, but this knife is one of the nicest I own. I was just wondering, it has a serial number on the blade and I know it's a limited edition. Does anyone know how many were made total? Also, what's the little hole in the blade for?

Thanks!

Also, the lockbar won't extend past a certain amount. It seems that the furthest it will go is to the edge of the tang. While it seems perfectly secure, it does have a little bit of up/down blade play. Is it supposed to do this, or is the lockbar supposed to have tension all the way over to the other side of the tang?

Hello,

I have the AFD, it is opened via thumbstud. I believe the absence of the stud on your model is for German law compliance. You gotta love the S60V steel.

Thanks for the reply! Yep, the CPM-S60V was one of the things that tipped me off to the knife. My knife is a different version, though, the one that has grooves cut into the handle parallel to the blade, and a tip up/wave opening clip option. It doesn't have a slot cut into the handle for a thumbstud, so I guess the hole in the blade is a residual feature since they use that on all the other versions.
