So I and my girlfriend are driving down from Canada to the US in several weeks for a camping trip and given Canada's sad laws about knives at the border I am thinking of picking up a more modern slipjoint for the journey.
I found the Caracal 42 which seemingly ticks all of my boxes: one handed opening, descent size, modern design, sturdy for whatever I need it to do, not a basic carbon steel (D2).
Sounds like a winner! BUT I know Böker can be pretty hit and miss with their quality so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this particular model before I pull the trigger on it?

I'm also open to alternatives but my budget for right now is a hard $100 USD limit unfortunately.

I appreciate the input!
