Today I shot 2 squirrels, and deceided to compare my boney ad to the working hog cultellus.
Both knives were hair popping sharp when I started, both were hair popping sharp when finished[no surprise here].
skinning: cutting through the tail bone with the boney ad was like using a laser, the cultellus took a little more pressure but still did well.
Both did well with the actual skinning, no diference here that I could tell.
Gutting: The boney ad split the breast bone, and pelvis the same as the tail bone, hardly any effort at all.
whc took a little more pressure for these tasks as well, but still did a very good job.
All in all both did well and either would be fine, although I did prefer the boney ad just a little better, maybe the difference was edge geometry.
The boney ad has a thinner edge than the whc, of course I could be just splitting hairs because I dont think you can go wrong with either.
