I got my B.F. Native in via Prioity Mail today, and I am in love. This is really an amazing knife. When I first saw the knife I was impressed with the blue G-10, it really looks excellent. I like the blue clip too, it makes it look just that much more special. As soon as I picked it up and flicked open the blade, I was hooked. This is a top quility knife. The fit and finish is great and it feels great in your hand. The knife is scary sharp, and I like the B.F. Logo on the blade as well. Something else I liked about the knife is the all screw construction, on a lock back knife, this great. I would like to give a big pat on the back to Spyderco for offreing us this amazing knife, that is true to the Spyderco quality that we have come to exspect and appreciate. And a big thanks to Mike and Spark for getting this knife project put together for the B.F. members. I am looking forward to the next B.F. knife project, so please don't make us have to wait to long. Your fat little buddy in the Texas Panhandle.

Ah, I envy you Chris. As I ordered the knife/sheath combo I have not yet gotten my sweaty little paws on one. I'm praying to the knife gods daily.

Right Chris!

Well said!

I am thrilled about mine, can't think of anything, but, wish it was the bigger size Native...(the fit and finish, and that Blue, is very cool, IMO)

2nd thought, the size is just right.

Hang tough Brian, your day will come!

I'm also very pleased with mine. I hope Spyderco builds one for the line just like it in Black. I noticed that it incorporated a new spring design. The top spacer and spring all seem to be one piece. Smooth!! THe interior of this nifty little piece is finished nearly as nice as the outside. If you peek into some of the Japan models the lock strap and the top spring holder and spacer are a little rough. I'm also waiting for the neck holders to come in. Some how I had a feeling that these would hold up the knives so I decided to order seperate and I'm glad I did now.

Brian,

I think you'll like the knife when you get. Think of the wait and review reading as foreplay.

lbwheat, I couldn't agree with you more. The only thing I DON'T like about my blue BF Native is it is a collectors item, so I am less likely to carry it EVERYWHERE I go. If Spyderco were to make one like it in black G10 as part of their standard line, ooh, ooh, ooh... well, actually, I'd have yet another knife to pine over until I sank more money into it...

To Brian and all those who don't yet have their BF Native,

The anticipation is part of the enjoyment of it all. It's kind of a process starting with considering what to buy, continuing through ordering, actually receiving it, on through using it and ultimately you and the knife separate (given away, lost, stolen, worn out, or whatever)! In the total scheme of things, anticipation of receiving a knife is part of the experience which we should learn to enjoy.

Ok, if you didn't buy the anticipation approach - you can think of it as a character building exercise OR perhaps it will teach patience. Deferred gratification is still gratification - right?

Hope you all get your knives soon. It must be driving you crazy.

If it's any comfort - crazy is just a short putt for me (just ask the parent of any teenager)!

Thanks Bob,, it's not a long drive for me either, proof being that here I am,typing away on this forum. It's ok though, I can hang. Actually, you are 100% right about anticipation being a major part of the equation, I just gotta verbalize once in a while.
