So, many moons ago, I held a contest, in which the winner was supposed to win a little knife. One of the prizes was to go to B.Mauser, but unfortunately a certain person, who shall remain unnamed (cough, Thrillbilly, cough), absconded with the prize. So, I ended up offering to let B.Mauser design another one, and he came up with the brilliant idea of a BK11, except styled like a BK9. Hence, the BK9-11. He's planning on stopping by and making another one with me in a couple weeks, and I thought I'd whet his appetite with a pic of the completed knife he'll get to pick up at that point. This one has a 3.5" blade, and is exactly 7" OAL. It is made from a solid 1/4" thick piece of 1095, heat treated by Darrin Sanders, a maker on this forum, and old-growth California redwood burl handle scales, attached permanently with steel pins and a copper lanyard tube.

I haven't made a sheath yet, because I know that Mauser makes better ones than I do, and I figure he may want to make his own, but I'll leave that up to him. It's a nice little knife, and I will be sad to see this one go. If I make another for myself, however, I'll probably use 1/8" 52100, since I like em slicy. This one's a beast of a tiny knife, and should be able to take quite a bit of abuse.
