b r refurb?

Greetings gentlemen.
I have picked up a user b.r. that is going to be birthday gift to my son. The knife is in good shape with just some finish wear to the sweet spot. Im wanting to find out how practical it would be to have the finish redone and the blade convexed. I sent an email to the shop but havent heard back yet and I dont want to wait too long and run out of time. Any thoughts / suggestions would be appreciated.

yeah, assumin it is a coated battle rat SwampRat will recoat it for you at a cost but will not strip it to satin, your best bet would be to contact either Horton or possibly even Bark River although Horton may have a quicker turnaround time. I have asked Eric before about getting blades recoated and the lead time is pretty long on that.
