How many of you out there have one of the new B10's and a BR, especially a SBR, or have owned and used a BR? How do they stack up in handling, etc.? Not only as a chopper, but also as a (big) knife? Thanks.cwd

CW, the Basic 10 and the satin Battle Rat are almost identical in size and feel. The only improvement that could have been made on the SBR would have been to make it out of INFI! The only improvement that could be made on the B-10 LE would be to make the blade with a bowie profile, IMHO of course. Both are perfect knives!

i agree with snwbrbr,,i have both and they are almost the same.the b10 gets the nod for being infi and the blended zero edge, but the battle rat has a nicer looking blade:thumbup:
both are winners and chop about the same...

Sorry, I am a Rat at heart, Battle Rat all the way!!!! :D

I do not have one any more, but i would believe the B-10 is a bunch lighter than the BR or SBR.

It would be interesting to see how it would fair against the heavier knife ?

I have a B10 and a Battle Rat, not the satin one. the B10 feels alot lighter and faster in the hand. the BR feels more heavy duty and robus. processing (prying out) fatwood the B10 seemed to flex more but chopping seemed easier with the b10. both are amazing blades!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET BOTH:)

On my postal scale, the B10 is 2 ounces lighter than my BR (not as blade-heavy). Although I've yet to try it out, the B10 seems like it will be the most useable-for-regular-knife-chores blade I have with a 10" blade.

I don't have a b10 to compare it to, but the sbr is MUCH lighter than a regular battle rat. Iirc it's only about 15 ounces, only an ounce or so heavier than a camp tramp! And it's my all time favorite big knife. In a perfect world it would be made of infi, but i don't feel disadvantaged in the slightest by sr101.
