Hi Hogs,
I figured several people have encountered the same thing. I have a B11 and JH Footlong (sheath that is) and was wondering if the removable kydex liners for the sheath can be molded to the B11 and if so how? The sheath comes with two and It appears that one insert is very thin like for a machete and the other works good for the B11 but has some side to tide jiggle in it. The sheath like the B11 is awesome, I just don't want the knife moving in it as I think it will wear on one or the other as well as make noise. Any advise would be greatly appretiated.

I think I have the longer of the two sheaths, can't remember the name. But what I did was I ordered a taco style sheath from Buy Brown, pulled out the insert and put in Dave's sheath. It fits like a glove and I just put one of the screws from the teclock into the gromet on the bottom to secure the kydex in the LMIW sheath. It make for a very versatile and amazing sheath. If I need to save weight or space I can pull the BB sheath out and use it solo.

One liner was for a 1/4" thick blade and the other was for a 3/16" thick blade. Just like the spec ops sheaths you can remold for a custom fit.

Thanks guys. I have thought about both options and is don't know how to remold the one that came with it. Do I just use a hairdryer to heat and mold it or what?

Hair dryer, heat gun or the oven will work perfect. 250 or so on the heat. Use good gloves to handle the hot kydex!

Exactly,,, but I have 2 of the "footlong" models, the "John Holmes" was the longer sheath. Originally they recommended the longer one for the B11 & NMFBM, but I did exactly what Oeser did, Took Daves (Buy Brown's) taco, and I drilled out the center bottom rivet and put the pin that came with the Lost Mountain right back in.:thumbup:

The thing works great!!! and you can still use just the taco if you like.. :D:D I wrapped a bit of 550 on it, (it would easily take another layer and still fit just fine) and in she went.

I do like the fact that the "thumb ramp" sticks up above the sheath just a bit,,,makes it real nice getting in & out.

I know,,,, I know,,,,,, PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN :p:p

Enjoy ya Hogs :cool: :thumbup::thumbup:

Wow. That really sucks that LMIW went out of business.

Man, that LMIW + B11 combo makes me really want a B11 now.

Sweet set up there. Mine is the black version of the foot long. I am starting another thread to show the B11 in bama clay and after I stripped it. It sure is sweet. Thanks for the pics of your rig.

sumnrfam, that is exactly what I have but in black. I didn't drill out the rivet though, I just used one of the screws from the teclock that came with the BB sheath but your method works great for a quick release. The ultimate combo for the B11 IMO. Makes it easy to attach to my pack with molle webbing.:D:cool:

Chu got it mang!! :D:D,

Yeah it is pretty sick,,and this is one of the "digi-cam"s that Charlie & Beth gave away to 8 lucky souls with an order. I was the last winner picked :D:D, My other one is the same size in khaki, and has the same seteup, but for the BWM in a taco.:thumbup:

Glad you liked it , Wade

Nice work. Really dig the digi camo. Too bad they aren't around. I've got to figure out something similar for my B11.

I've never run across the camo one but you see the black up sometimes on the exchange.

Has anyone tried this kind of setup on a smaller Busse-kin blade? Say like a Sar 6, or 8, or RatManDeux with Taco Kydex in a Spec Ops sheath? I was thinking about trying something like that and wondered if anyone had beat me to it.
