I have a B11 on the way and now I need a sheath. I was hoping you guys could help me out with some pics. How do you carry yours? I was thinking hip carry with a option to attach it to a pack. Wasn't sure if I should get leather or kydex. If you could add why you choose the sheath you did that would be great also. Thanks in advance for the help.

I made my own leather sheath, and have a kydex sheath from Mashed Cat; VERY sweet fit and well made! Several sheath makers are on this forum; Rainwalker, Mashed Cat, Chuddy Bear, Buy Brown just to name a few. They all make top-notch sheaths!;)

If you can get your hands on a Lost Mountain Iron Works sheath you will not regret it. I`ve also had a kydex sheath made by Mashed Cat and his service is perfect.

I went with kydex. This knife is going to get dirty and being able to rinse out the sheath from time to time as needed is a plus.

Here's my Mashed Cat dangler:

With a big knife like this, I wanted the option of having it not flopping around, yet allowing full range of motion, like getting in & out of a vehicle with it on.

Looked up lost mountain iron works but it seems they quit making sheaths. I've just never carried a blade that was over 6" on my belt. Wasn't sure if it would be to heavy or get in the way when your walking. Thanks for the replies. Maybe I'll go with a Dundee type rig. Hmmm... I'll have to think about it for a bit. Just don't wanna get something that's not practical.

Ahh.. Thnx jaxx, that was exactly what I was looking for. I'll check out mashed cat for a quote. Like I said above just wasn't sure if hip carry was practical. Thnx for clearing that up.

You're welcome. :)
The beauty of this sheath is that I can take off the dangler and leg strap and put a large Tec Lok on it for belt carry too. The B11 is light enough to be supported by one.
It's good to have options...

Jaxx,
That is a geat looking sheath. Gonna have to give Mashed Cat a call. Thanks for sharing.

Here's a couple other options for you.

Okuden kydex sheaths are the "Best Of The Best" in kydex to be found IMHO. The distinctive SNAP his sheath gives as your knife hits home is comforting solid reassurance that your knife is exactly where you want it to be and will be there when you need it.

As a cheaper alternative in a kydex-lined cordura format, Knifecenter.com has Ontario RTAK sheaths that will accept a B11, albeit with a somewhat loose fit. HOWEVER, be sure to read my review of the sheath there, since it has some serious shortcomings that to me reduce its attractiveness.

Mashed cat makes a great danler, thigh rig. Al werks makes great kydex too I highly recommend him as well.

For leather Dwayne at armor all leather , chuddy bear, and rain walker make awesome sheaths.

Here are some pics for you, front and back so you can see attachment points.

Kydex you have my Mashed cat thigh rig for a Ash 1. it is adjustable for carry length. A top quality sheath

you will probably want a pancake style like the desert camo Al Werks model in the above picture, for more attachment points instead of the taco style. The taco style is more compact.

Here are two of Dwaynes leather sheaths, both great attention to detail and fit. Im sure he can make a thigh rig for you as well.

And here is my Chuddy Bear dangler sheath. It is a well designed set. It holds a Warden knife behind the altoids case holder and is a little heavier than kydex but feels reassuring. It also has the fire steel loop on the side.

All of these have great retention and attention to detail. There are other makers out there making great products im sure but these are the ones that I highly recommend. any of these makers will serve you just fine.

Good luck and let us know what you get!!!

And here is a pic just because I think its awesome:)

Sar5 thnx for the photos. I ended up ordering a mashed cat with dangled loop and leg strap. Ill get some pics up when everything gets here. I've been eyeballing those chuddy bear sheaths for awhile. I will get one someday. I have bought a couple leather sheaths off al for boss jack and war dog. I like his work so I might get another one from him. So many great sheath makers out there I'm gonna eventually try them all. Thnx everyone for your help. Now the wait begins.
