B17 Bomber

My wife's second cousin served in WWII and was on a crew on one of the bombers. He got a call this week to see if he wanted to go up in a B17 as there is one in town. He asked if my wife and I wanted to go along, so we said yes.

Was this up by Lake Erie? Me and the family was up by Presque Bay over the weekend and saw one of these awesome war birds flying overhead. Great pictures..

way beyond cool! I would love to do that. It has come through Tulsa more than once, but o really need to get over there next time.

No, it is in Philadelphia. The plane is here for the weekend for tours and flights.

Thats sweet!!! I hate flying lmao but i like bada$$ planes!!!

We still need to plan a get together sometime and have Jaxx come with some of them amazing knives :)
 
Oh man what an awesome experience! I love WWII aircraft and memorabilia. I love the artwork they used to paint on the nose cones too. Very cool.

They want $500 per person for a 20-30 minute flight. While the pics would be cool, that is a little pricey IMO.

We might do it if we are back in time on Sunday.
 
I see one of these flying out of Lexington ky airport every once in a while. A beautiful piece of history.

That's expensive IMHO. Granted its a B17 but still. You can do almost an hour ride through the Grand canyon on $2.5 M helicopter for about 1/2 that:( Just not something on todays budget.


Its still be awesome!:cool:

Hope they work a reasonable deal for you to hop on for the experience. Heck, just mention you're doing your part to spread the word.
