Hey All,

This is my first post in this forum as I just purchased my first actual custom recently. I am very very excited to get the knife, and can not wait to put the beauty to use.

The maker is Bill Akers from "bacustomknives." I have never dealt with Bill in the past, but I have to say, he has been fantastic to deal with so far and from the photos of this thing, see link below, I can't wait to get it.

Anyhow, very rarely do I feel like its christmas when I buy a knife, but this is definetely one of those rare occasions. I just had to share my excitement somewhere, so I thought I would post. I will add some photos when it comes in tonight. Can't Freaking Wait!!!

Bill makes some really nice knives at what I feel is a very low price for what you are getting.
He made one for me and another for my brother.

The photos never look as good as the knife does in person.
Looks like you scored on a great knife.

Welcome to the Blade Forum community! I think you'll find that there are a lot of good people and craftsmen here. Bill is definitely one of the best of both. I've been around here for about a year and I've never heard anyone complain about Bill's work or how he treats people. So congratulations on choosing the right guy to make your first custom knife. I'm sure you'll love it!

SWEET looking knife! I'm bewildered about something I see in the photos of one side of the knife compared to the other side re the damascus pattern. When I look at the photo in Mark's post above, the "grain" of the pattern steel leans back toward the handle at the spine, which looks REALLY cool syncing up with the matrix of the spaulting in the handle. The flip side as shown in a photo from the other thread shows the pattern leaning the other way. My mind is short circuiting. Can someone explain that to me?
