BA E vs. BA 3

I just bought my first Busse:D A used but near perfect SH-E with On Scene and standard sheaths. I love it. But now I'm already looking for another model. My wife will surely kill me soon. I've been trying to decide between the BA E (resell) and the BA 3. It looks like they can be had for nearly the same price. How about some opinions? Is the older model worth more? That snakeskin nucarta looks awful nice. I would think that the thinner blade would cut better, but not be as strong.
Please help (my wife will definately kill me if I end up with both).

John,
Congrats on your 1st Busse. I think the BA III with SS Nukarta would be great. I wouldn't worry about the strength of it. You have your Steel Heart for the real tough stuff!!;) The BA III and your SH would be the perfect pair IMHO.

Here's a third for the BAg3. Can't go wrong with either one, but I feel the 3/16" stock is better in this size of knife :D:D

Extremely unlikely you will damage the thinner knives without a cheater pipe---driven into a tree with a hammer they will support my 350+ lbs using it as a step.

I find myself in agreement with those posting above only because you already have a SH/E. The earlier BA would have been a great compromise knife if you did not have the SH/E for the heavy duty tasks.

Depending on your intended uses, have you consider the Satin Jack? I have BAg3 and plan on using it as a hunting knife, albeit a very heavy duty one.:D With that said, I do prefer the SJ as its balance, beauty and ba//s makes it a great general purpose knife.

Thanks everyone. I ordered the BAg3 in Snakeskin:D . The SJ looks very tempting, but I wanted something a little smaller. Maybe it'll be the next one. For now I have to keep repeating to myself MUST NOT BUY MORE KNIVES!! or I'll never hear the end of having given my wife grief for years about spending money on the "crap":footinmou that she collects. The thinner blade seems like it will be better for cutting.
Thanks for the responses.

In stronger carbon steels even 3/16 in. can be considered "overkill," proportionately a 3/16 in. stock blade 4-1/2" long is probably much tougher to break than 1/4 in. stock blade 9-10 in. long- I agree with Bullhamster, you would need a cheater pipe to actually bend it permanently or cause break.

I agree...the new version of the knife is outstanding. I actually prefer the older sheaths, though. I like the new sheaths fine in every respect but 2. First, I liked the pouch...but I understand an add on pouch may be in the works...good idea.
Second, I preferred the tight fit on the kydex insert. Can anybody tell me A. What was the thinking behind that change. B. What options would I have to change that aspect to suit my preference, short of just buying a new sheath? That would seem like a waste since I like it in other ways. Thanks, Ed.
