BA3 and SJ

I am expecting a BA3 with SSN handles within about a week. I was just hoping that maybe somebody who was lucky enough to recieve their BA3 wouldn't mind taking a picture of it next to a SJ. I would like to see how the handle sizes compare. Also, if possible a picture of the original BA w/ the BA-E w/ the BA3 would be cool too. I hope I am not asking too much. Thanks a bunch!! Luke
P.S. How does the BA3 compare in cutting(slicing) ability to a 1/4 inch SJ? I am wanting to know if I made the right choice.

I took some pix of the new arrivals this afternoon :)
Somehow I thought that BA next to my SJ CG 1/4 would be a good idea ;)

Here you go:

It always helps when someone posts pics of Busse knives; it help Jerry sell a few more knives! ;)

ROFL. Yeah right, I was already worried.

Those were take with my old Canon QV 3000-Ex 3.2 mpx, and as usual I use a tripod, plus photoshop for sharpening/touchups. Otherwise it's rather blurry.

Lately I was using Sony Cybershot 707 5 mpx, and that's a lot better, especially for small details. Unfortunately I don't have it this weekend :(

Gator, Thanks for the picture. The handles look identical in profile. Man is that going to be a big handle for a smaller blade. Now I want to get a 3/16 SJ to replace the 1/4 I had. Gator, How does the edge geometry of the 3/16 SJ and the BA3 compare? Is one much thicker than the other? Do you think Jerry would void the warranty if I put my on choil in the BA3? Jerry told me once that unlike most steels that loose hardness when over heated, INFI actually gets harder when it is over heated from grinding...ofcourse he could be pulling my leg.
Hey Jerry by the way, got a treasure map for anything buried here in Nebraska? Climber moved to South Dakota so the state is mine, all mine:)
Peace
Luke

No problemo. Always glad to help brothers in INFI :)

They are identical. I didn't have much time to play with the new Busses yet, but I sure did some cutting. The handle was just fine. It didn't feel oversized for BA3. I have rather large paws, but nothing huge, I think UR gonna like it.

He he :D Placed an order last week, SJ CG Slim.

I don't have 3/16 SJ yet. There's one thing, the edge on my BA3 was ground fairly thin compared to any Busse I've ever had. It's visible on the pictures I've posted in another thread. The BA3 edge grind is larger(?) on the pix. Man, that thing cuts like crazy :) I totaly like it. I've cut various material yesterday and today, including plastic, old carpeting and cables. INFI held up perfectly, no chipping, no rolling, and it responds to stropping very well.

Do you think Jerry would void the warranty if I put my on choil in the BA3?
:D Donno, honest. I would remove that small choil from mine if I could, for 4 inch blade I think it's not really necessary and it is no choil anyways.

Gator,

Many thanks for the sweet pix here, in the other threads, and on your website. You're doing a great job handling the lighting and backgrounds to really show the knives well. Keep up the fine work.

IMHO Gator gets a gold INFI star because he "shares well with others." :D :D

Thanks again,

Thanks Greg and everyone ;) My pleasure.

P.S. I do like the INFI star idea. May be Jerry will do that one day :D
