Here are a couple of pictures from the Raton, New Mexico Fourth of July Parade. The automobile is Babe Ruth's 1948 Lincoln in original condition, never restored. Original interior, original paint. And the engine purrs like a kitten, practically Prius-quiet.

They don't make 'em like that any more, that's for sure.

What's interesting to me, the collector and his car would have been welcome at any Fourth of July parade in the country, and he chose Raton, New Mexico. Dunno why...

Speaking of Raton, the first car in the state of New Mexico was driven in Raton 100 years ago this summer, and a new Historic Marker has been placed in town.
