I build this one from time to time. The old time Bowie's designed by Rezin Bowie were often not much bigger than this one since it's main intended use was as a hunting knife, according to Rezin's daughter. This one is flatground 1/8 inch 154CM with a 5 inch blade(tip to guard). OAL is 10 inches and it weighs 8.1 ounces. Trim is Nickel Silver. It's been sold.

I believe the handle is ivory micarta.

Great looking little bowie! Almost looks like a Loveless style blade with a coffin handle.

Yes, it is Ivory Micarta; in this case sanded up to 1500 grit and then buffed with white. Actually the blade resembles the original blade on Rezin Bowie's knife; in fact I copied the whole knife profile from an article done in Blade magazine several years ago on James Black. It showed a bowie presented to a Cherokee Chief,Tah-Chee, in 1849. This isn't the picture, it was of just the knife, but it gives you some idea.
