I like it a lot. The very first Spyderco I ever saw was a friend's Baby Jess Horn in stainless steel. An AGRussell excuslive. I liked it's small size but big enough to use. He was in love with it and carried all the time. I've always wanted one...but this one's better.
The sprint run is full flat grind with a thin blade and a razor sharp edge. It's just big enough with a 2.4" edge to fulfill most cutting chores. It's small enough to disappear, whether clipped or just in the pocket. Mine had impeccable fit and finish, with lots of neat little touches; slightly chamfered G10 edges, satin polished interior, bank vault lockup, very fine grind-almost perfect. Shaved hair out of the box and after a week of constant use (including the kitchen) still shaves hair. All I did was wash it out a few times with hot water (being small, I got icing from a sticky bun inside and I used it to cut leg and thigh holes in a chicken). The handle shape is exceptionally comfortable and just big enough to be useful for defense. The hole of course is a little small, but it works for one-hand opening, Spyderco-drop opening and middle finger opening. For a week it took care of all my knife needs. Overall a neat little package.
It's got a real "retro-Spydie" design that still works in the 21st century. By that I mean, it has the real pointy tip reminiscent of the older Endura/Delica, the big pivot head, pinned construction, lockback, right-hand only carry and original Spyderco pocket clip. No titanium, no frame lock, no bearings, just a good ole lockback designed by a master (Jess Horn) and transformed by Spyderco (Sal?).
Great Job, Sal and crew. I love it.
It's a very nice knife. Didn't see much discussion of it in this or other forums. Anyone else have one? Do ya like it?
